“My 9-year-old daughter was struggling with math and reading in school, and we were looking for a tutor to come to our home and catch her up with her peers. Our daughter has ADHD and some very special interests (lizards and dragons!), so we were hoping to find someone who could manage that too. We were very happy to find Angel - she is warm and patient, but also firm and clear with her expectations.

Angel quickly figured out that our daughter is a visual learner, so she came up with creative ways to make the lessons more interesting — she had us buy small lizard toys as counting objects and used stories about dragons and lizards as incentives to encourage her to finish lessons. As a parent, I appreciate that Angel keeps me posted on our daughter’s progress and stays on top of the school calendar so that she can prepare my daughter for SOLs and other big tests.

We are extremely happy with Angel, and would highly recommend her to any parent, especially parents with children who have different learning styles.”

Working with Mrs. Dean during our recent IEP meeting was an invaluable
experience. As a former special education teacher, Mrs. Dean brought a
wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, helping us navigate
the complexities of the process with ease and confidence. Her ability
to communicate effectively with both educators and parents and the
fact that she understood our son's needs ensured that everyone's
concerns were heard and addressed.

Mrs. Dean demonstrated a deep understanding of individualized
education plans and provided insightful recommendations that were
tailored to meet the specific needs of the student. Her compassionate
and assertive approach and dedication to advocating for the best
interests of my son were truly inspiring.

Having Mrs. Dean by our side not only made the meeting more productive
but also left us feeling empowered and supported. We are grateful for
her guidance and look forward to working with her again in the future.

Angel Maria Dean, of Angel’s Educational Advocacy, has been an
incredible tutor for my child with special needs, Blaine, during the
past 10 years. She had not only helped improve my daughter’s skills in
reading, mathematics, communication, and functional living skills but
also assisted her in finding independence through different life
skills and experiences. Angel has also helped me personally with
Blaine’s IEP drafts, progress report, and eligibility documentation,
and has made understanding and advocating for my daughter’s needs so much
easier. Blaine both respects and enjoys spending time with Angel. We
consider her family and have full trust in our daughter’s well-being.
We plan to continue working with Mrs. Dean long into the future, when
Blaine is an adult and living independently.
